Tai ji (also seen as tai chi) is a centuries-old Chinese practice that combines slow, flowing movements with deep breathing and focused awareness. Originally developed as a martial art, it is now widely practiced as a gentle form of exercise that promotes balance, flexibility, and overall well-being. The movements are performed in a continuous, graceful sequence, often described as “meditation in motion,” helping to calm the mind while strengthening the body. Tai ji also emphasizes the cultivation of internal energy, or “qi,” and encourages harmony between body and mind, making it both a physical and mindful practice suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
